Since 1976 the village has had its own newspaper called
“Der Terner“.
It is published four times a year and it informs the population of the village as well as people who have moved from
their homeland as to the goings on in the village and on the activities of the Municipality and the Associations.
Terenten is called the Sunny Village (Sonnendorf). It is the village with the most hours of daily sunshine in Southtyrol.
In winter time the sun shines from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and in summer time from 4 a.m. to 8 p.m.. That is why a proverb says
“in Terento the sun never sets”.
Apart from a lot of sunshine we can also offer many cultural events including the local music orchestral concert
and the performances of the folk dancers. Thanks to the farmers diligence the environment is preserved and the population
still today stands by old traditions like processions and marches, concerts, fire brigade and music festivals, church fair
and driving the cattle down from the mountain pastures in autumn. Many great activities and events for the guests to
participate in regarding these old traditions.

Terento consists of 1,600 inhabitants, 120 of the 460 families run a farm and 60 families rent 1,300 guest beds.
Also the manufacturing industry has developed considerably in the last number of years. Terento has advanced from
being a small farming mountain village into a growing and economically vibrant village, in which agriculture,
tourism, the manufacturing industry and the service sector are the main pillars of the economy.
