Schlanders has a well-kept pedestrian area which is a meeting point for old and young.
The centre is thanks to the traffic calming a popular place for locals. Here children can
move freely without any danger. Besides a multitude of specialised dealer of any kind on Thursday takes place a the weekly market at the Stainerplatz. Here you have a good opportunity to acquire local food at a good price. In the city centre are many bars and cafes and restaurants. Schanders has a spacious network with about 100 km of hiking trails.
You can walk on easy promenades through the fruit orchards in the surroundings or climb on the Ötztaler Alps and the Ortlergruppe. Specially liked are the so-called Waalwege with their wonderful panoramic from the elevation to the bottom of the valley. Schlanders is a ideal starting point for bike tours. Accurate marked and best maintained cycle tracks give you the opportunity to discover the beauty of this landscape on two wheels. |

If you are looking instead of relaxation excitement and adventure you will find in extreme sports like rafting, kajaking, hydrospeed, canyoning and paragliding. Schlanders lies in the centre of the Ortler Skiarena, a consortium of about 14 skiing regions. There is a total amount of 300 km of piste for skiers and snowboarders and over 200 km of best maintained loips for cross-country skiing. Furthermore you can toboggan, ice-skating,go on a horse sleight ride, snowkiten, snowshoeing and further more to live an eventful winter holiday. |
