The Antholzertal valley is a side valley of the green Pustertal valley and branches off the left side of the national road 10 km after Bruneck. Thanks to the pleasant climate, the sunny location, the magnificent landscape and last but not least thanks to the spectacular mountains the valley is a popular and much frequented holiday destination and an ideal place for guests who are seeking rest and relaxation.

At the entrance to the Antholzertal valley you can find the two pitoresque villages of Niederrasen and Oberrasen set amid charming countryside, against the backdrop of dark green forests and the imposing rock faces of the wild and rugged mountains of the Rieserferner Massif with the towering peak of the Hochgall (3,445 m). The valley ends with a wonderful lake, the nicely located Antholzer Wildsee (Lake Antholz).

Three of the seven South Tyrolean national parks are located in the Kronplatz Holiday Region: Fanes-Sennes-Prags National Park with its legendary magical world, Rieserferner-Ahrn National Park with its imposing 3000ers and Puez-Geisler National Park. In these ecologically intact areas, protecting nature and the landscape is paramount.

Regardless of the season, when you go on extensive tours in the national parks, you'll come across a unique plant world and see some "exotic" little animals. Those who want to, can go on organized nature walks on which experts explain the cycles in nature. This makes hiking twice the fun! You'll find detailed information on the various topic-oriented walks in the national parks on our local web pages.
