There are between five- and six hundred active resident golf players in the valley to date. In the Puster Valley there are not enough golf courses to offer sufficient practice to satisfy local demand, the residents interest in golf urgently requires further facilities. This requirement will be covered by the building of the two golf courses in Reischach and Altprags thus guaranteeing easy access for all. In addition to which they will improve the quality of the game for the whole of South Tyrol. Building these two additional golf courses definitely adds to the tourist attractions in our valley emphasised by the approval to go ahead by the Provincial Government.

As the site of the “KRONPLATZ” Course in Reischach adjoins the existing sport zone it is in the most suitable place to create the new course according to international standards. Having surveyed the ground with Geom. Hans Aschbacher, the two architects Alvise Rossi Fioravanti, Florence, and Golf Professional Baldovino Dassù, Milano, – an experienced team - were most concerned to ensure an environ- mental friendly layout to fit the golf holes perfectly into the attractive scenery. A considerable attraction of the “KRONPLATZ” Course is, namely, the diversity of its landscape. 7 holes are in the hilly part of the course, a further 6 in a marshy part and the remaining 5 holes fit in around a large pond in flat open country.
